Quantum Science born from the observation and analysis of nature, now stands at the heart of a new technological era. It is expanding our understanding of physical reality and enabling breakthroughs in quantum computing, precision metrology, secure communication, sensing, and next-generation materials. With 2025 declared the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology by the United Nations General Assembly under UNESCO’s leadership, the time is especially right to broaden quantum literacy among students, educators, and young researchers. The Centre for Excellence in Quantum Science (CEQS) seeks to strengthen this foundation by engaging school and college students, nurturing innovation, and fostering national and international collaboration in quantum science and technology.
VISION
To inspire young students and researchers to explore quantum science and its applications, and to encourage innovative solutions to real-world problems through quantum ideas.
MISSION
- Deliver seminars and workshops in schools and higher education institutions.
- Facilitate exchange of ideas and collaboration among researchers and experts in quantum science.
- Promote innovative projects in quantum science and technology.
OBJECTIVES
- Understanding Quantum Laws: CEQS focuses on the fundamental laws of quantum physics, which form the basis of quantum mechanics and quantum technologies.
- Technology Development: CEQS aims to apply quantum mechanics to develop breakthrough technologies with transformative impact across industries and society.
- Partnerships: The Centre seeks collaboration with research institutions, industries, and government organizations to advance quantum research and applications.
- Solving Challenges: CEQS is dedicated to addressing present and future challenges through quantum solutions, including problems in cryptography, materials science, and optimization.
- Teaching and Learning: CEQS will offer educational programs, courses, and workshops to train the next generation of quantum scientists and engineers.
- Research: Research lies at the core of CEQS activities, with a focus on cutting-edge work in quantum information science and technology.
- Community Building: CEQS will help build a strong community of researchers, students, and industry professionals for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Funding and Grants: CEQS will facilitate access to funding opportunities and grants for quantum-related research and student projects.
- Disclaimer: CEQS is a non-profit forum dedicated to benefiting society. The members of this Centre do not receive financial compensation for their activities; their work is purely voluntary.
